Ecole Baker Elementary
School History
École Baker Elementary School is a multicultural school which is located on the west side of the Fraser River in Quesnel. We are the largest elementary school in the district and enroll about 365 students. About 40% of our students, 7 out of 16 divisions, are enrolled in French Immersion (K-7). École Baker Elementary offers many exciting opportunities for learning. We offer many clubs and activities, and have a very active Students' Council.
École Baker Elementary is rich with tradition and history. Many students have passed through our halls. Former students often visit to walk down memory lane and look at the old class pictures on the walls, some dating back to the early 1960's. Yet our school also reflects modern technology with a 30 station networked computer lab, a mini-lab in the library and computers in the classrooms.
École Baker Elementary is a happy and exciting place to learn and celebrate learning. Students, staff, and parents are proud of École Baker Elementary. Together we have created a school philosophy and a set of beliefs to give our school community a common sense of purpose and belonging. Each of us chooses to be respectful of people and property, safe, and responsible. Our philosophy and beliefs reflect universal values of how people should interact with each other. They also guide us as we learn together, in partnership, to make École Baker Elementary School a safe, orderly and supportive learning environment.
Partnership between school and home supports a child's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. The key to any successful partnership is good communication. This web page was created to enhance open, effective communication between home and school. Please feel free to contact school staff whenever you have a question, comment, concern, or word of praise.
