School History
Maple Drive Junior Secondary school was opened in September of 1976 with its current grade configuration of grades 8, 9, and 10. The student population has ranged from 330 to 440 students over the 26 years of operation. MDJS offers a complete range of courses, co-cuuricular activities, and extra-curricular activities in a nuturing enviornmnet which is small enough to allow excellent student/staff contacts. MDJS has specialized in three programs, including the Student Leadership Program, a comprehensive grade 8-10 guitar program, and A Canadian Hockey Association Skills Acadmey for all ranges and abilities of hockey players.
Vision
Over the next 5 years Maple Drive Junior Secondary will provide a growing environment for achievement in Academics, Athletics and the Arts, eventually leading to a grade 8 - 12 school attending to the needs of secondary schol students in the south half of greater Quesnel.
